Turn Back Time

I wish I could turn back time

To go back to when we were friends.

To a time when your face would light up when you saw me,

When you still laughed at my jokes.

Before the heartache,

Before the hurt and anger,

Before the hate.

I grasp those precious moments in my fist

Reluctant to let them go,

Because despite where we are now

Those memories were my happiest,

And as they began to seep through my fingers, I cry

Knowing that, if given the chance,

I would do it all over again

Regardless of the outcome

Just to feel that happiness again.
